The rest of the demigods had settled in, some looking weary and ready to go to bed, neglecting the majestic view that could be seen from Olympus High. The city skyline is outlined in a glowing white, dotted with sparkling lights, while the highschool is secluded enough that Los Angeles' light pollution doesn't reach the skies above. The night was a dark blue, wispy gray clouds floating aimlessly atop the surface of the sky, where stars sparkled like diamonds.
Long story short, it was the perfect night for a walk.
I took the elevator to the third floor, watching as the green light shown the ascending numbers, until the metal doors slid open with a ding.
Jane, in light pink pajamas, looked towards me, immediately tossing her hair when she found my light eyes. I scowled harshly back, although it was hard to admit that she looked pretty comfortable; especially when I was wearing jeans that felt stiff all of a sudden.
She was wearing her smug look, as if she read my thoughts, and leaned on the doorway of the Aphrodite dorm. "Decided to come with the rest of us, after all?"
I stared her down evenly, snarling out whatever words came to mind. "I wouldn't join you even if Zeus himself were to strike me down if I didn't." I silently prayed to my father that it wouldn't come to that, even if I did mention it myself.
The daughter of Aphrodite, shook her head, as if I didn't know what I was saying, and stepped into her dorm, closing the milky wood door behind her.
Anger was closing in on me, and I left the elevators to find my dorm, complete with the scent of fresh earth and the radiating death. I felt only slightly at home, still driven by the fact that I had to get my hands on my sword again. I grabbed my dark gray hoodie, slipping it on and flipping the hood up before heading downstairs and into the winter cold.
I had taken a trip to the Training Center before heading out, finding my shadow black Stygian iron sword, which was propped up neatly and glinting in the dim light. I now held it in my hands, gripping it enough for my knuckles to turn white.
Mr. Bates hadn't given a second thought when I'd left; I've been here long enough for him to trust me to go out into the night.
I was so intent on finding a lone tree to target my anger into that I hadn't heard the faint rustling of leaves underfoot. It was only when I heard the feminine voice was when I realized there was someone there. "Excuse me?"
I whipped around, eyes blazing, and pointed the tip of my sword to someone taller than me, long blonde hair cascading down her back. She stepped back, startled, and I took a better look at her. She looked about the same age as Jane, but I couldn't be sure if she was a mortal that could see my sword, or an actual demigod.
I didn't lower my sword. "Name, and explanation."
She seemed to have gotten over her surprise, and spoke without hesitation. "Charlotte Flight, Junior." The girl eyed my sword cautiously, and added to her introduction. "Daughter of Apollo."
Only then had my sword lowered, tip pointing to the earth. "Another demigod?" I breathed out a sigh, freezing white in the crisp air. "I suppose you're looking for Olympus High?"
She stared at me, confused. "Olympus...High?"
"The highschool for half-bloods."
Charlotte nodded, her lips lifting in a faint trace of a smile. "Yeah. Can you show me the way?"
I glanced down at my sword, the spirit of battle inside me fading. "It's just down the path, but I'll show you anyway." I paused. "I'm Kira Le Sune, daughter of Hades."
I could practically see her mind put the pieces of my 'puzzle' together. I was used to this; I just gave off an unnatural aura.
"Nice to meet you."
With those last four words, we shifted our feet, walking to the building together with the silver moonlight pouring onto our steps.

The Night's Still Young
A slight breeze ruffled through my hair, cooling the temperature enough to make me want it to last a lifetime. It was summer, around the time where the sun is just at the distant horizon, melting into the land and setting all that the light touches ablaze in a yellow orange shimmer. Waves were crashing onto the shore to the north of the building, but I hardly noticed it.
It was just another day at the hidden school, resembling a hotel with its slick glass windows and five-star appearance. It was only me and Mr. Bates here at Olympus High, along with the nymphs appearing in the courtyard time and time again, or the satyrs who tend to pay a visit when they're not out searching. Needless to say, the school was haunted by and eerie silence, without the usual bustle of demigods at Camp Half-Blood over in Manhattan.
I was seated in the courtyard on one of the stone benches. Mr. Bates was busy hammering on his computer, the slight clicks of his keyboard audible even outside. I blinked, realizing the problem, and looked back to see Mr. Bates, talking, nodding, eyes glued to the monitor. Four students, around the age required in Olympus High, were replying to the principle in short, one-worded sayings, each filling out a white parchment just as I had when I came across the full-time highschool.
I stood up abruptly, sliding open the glass doors and stepping inside. The teenagers turned their heads to look at me, just as a class would to a late teacher.
"Are these demigods?" My voice was directly for Mr. Bates, but before he could answer, one of them cut in.
"Yes, we're demigods. How would we find this place otherwise?" The tone was accusing, and I shot a glare at the girl who had spoken. She was older than me, about the right age for a junior. Her hair was blonde, and her eyes a striking yellow-green.
I had no problem standing up to someone older than me. That's just the thing of being the daughter of Hades: you learn not to care.
Another demigod shook her head, slightly agitated by the girl who had spoken. "Yeah. We found this place not long after we met each other."
I nodded slowly at them, eyes still stony. "Have you all been claimed yet?"
The only male demigod of the group shrugged. "Jane," he pointed to the blonde that had spoken first. "is a daughter of Aphrodite, Lena is the daughter of Nemesis and the lieutenant of Artemis," He pointed to the demigod that had spoken a little while before. "and Tessa and I are unclaimed."
I blinked at them, noticing their features better now that the sun had gone down completely. "Alright then. All the dorms are on the third floor, if you want to get there now. Otherwise, you can hang out in the training center, courtyard, cafeteria, or here." I gestured to the large office, looking as if it was modeled after a lobby. "Feel free to do whatever, as long as it's according to basic school rules. After all," I looked over my shoulder and into the gray skies, preparing for dusk.
"The night's still young."
